XP Pro SP3 Activation

    I've installed an original copy of Windows XP Pro SP3 (x86) but I don't have a key with which to activate Windows.

    How can I activate Windows so that it will allow me to update through Windows Update? I would prefer not to reinstall the whole thing because it takes a long time and I have already installed a lot of software on the machine.

    I've been through the stickies but they all require me to reinstall Windows if I'm not mistaken. Is there no way for me to activate Windows without having to do a fresh install?
