want to block out apps from taking contact, location, email, pictures and other normal sensitive information, like what xprivacy does in the exposed framework for android. IS there anyway to block this besides firewalling which will render most apps useless?
Hmm interesting...I'd say there probably is a way to do this, it's just Windows 8 RT / Metro is so unpopular no one cared enough to do this, especially when in Windows the source is NOT available --- unlike Android --- so you're talking about having to hook proprietary functions, rather than open-source ones. There is an API Microsoft provides to hook Win32 functions, but not only is this Black Magic(tm) that not many people know how to use and doesn't seem to work extremely well, I also dunno if it'll work for WinRT functions.
