Just picked my cam and did a shot...... Those SLR's are really nice, especially when plugged a 450 mm tele... Shot by hand..no tripod....original image, no digital zoom, only cut out the moon, native resolution... http://www.box.net/shared/v1zvef83qj Enjoy...
Very nice..I should of bought a Nikon.. I have an Olympus 4:3 that is a PITA to get figured..Certainly at night... Nice pic, I like night photo and celestial especially..Very difficult W/O tripod..
Yes right, Nikon rules! Anyone got a Canon? For smart people with delicate hands like me a Nikon is the far better choice...hehehe... Next time right when the moon is raising I'll be there again to use the natural amplification of the atmosphere to shot a real huge MOON...
I think the D90 is class for prosumer. I like it better than Canon, but had already bought mine. I may be ready for a tuneup..LOL I also like the Sony alpha series...
I usually buy electronical stuff like PC, cam, TV not very often, but when I do, I spend a little more for it.... My previous cam was a 'bridge' cam, a Canon Powershot G2. Still got it and is working.... stil a good cam for snapshots. Last year I got the D90. I wanted to get a SLR...good for beginners, but a little more pro than a ordinary starter model. I guess it is (was) the best choice. The handling and the concept of Nikon's is much more developed than Canon SLR'S. I can handle all options using one hand only... But what's most important is your personal feeling with the body of the cam...just go into a store pick up some cams, play around (no matter what manufacturer) and choose the one you feel comfortable with....for me it is Nikon. Btw: The shot of the moon was surprisingly good, beause of the huge tele (300 mm, Nikon crop factor at D90 is 1.5 so you've got 450 mm). Also the image stabilisation worked well.... aperture: 7.1 shutter: 1/500 s Iso: 200 manual mode. To shot pictures is another hobby of me.
It seems you have another talent aside from bios modding. Are there any other good shots you would like to share with us Yen ?
Well, it actually doesn't need an expensive good cam, but good light to make a good shot. All pictures are original, no manipulation (out of cam). Also it's useful to store the raw data. Then you may apply another white balance after in case you have chosen the wrong before! I made a lot of pics, here are some: Shot with Canon Powershot G2: A bridge, are you free from giddiness? http://www.box.net/shared/4zyd4vzsfz Sunsets are difficult, damn wire..LOL! http://www.box.net/shared/l8h185ue3r Stairways to my dream beach, a bit overexposed. http://www.box.net/shared/yth7k56n0r Down the stairs. Really very nice picture. I like moon. but this full moon is really looking fantastic. Thanks for sharing this great picture
Some guy that i did teach a lot did visit the moon recently, he also got some time to open up his helmet to eat a burger ( i did educate many people to eat smth in open space ) On this picture he did just finish the burger.
"eating burgers in outer space" is another term for being under the influence of hallucinogenic drugs - there are many metaphers: remember Dr. Hofmann's bike ride? There are many things do to in outer space - and you don't even need to leave home. j/k
When I had my last burger on moon I wondered why I could eat it at open space without to choke on. Then it was clear I must have been dreaming. The next attempt was like expected I tried again and I died. Now I have left the moon and I'm in heaven......no need to eat burgers anymore, although at next corner there is a burger king. I wonder what will happen if I would try to eat one without wearing my helmet there..... At next time when I'm reincarnated I'll watch again for the moon and when I'm able to notice it at sky, I would know that I'm not there, anyway I will go for a tom yam soup instead of, it's more spicy and less harmful.
Here is a shot i would like to share. Its certainly not professional but i think its nice. Its of a local beauty spot called "The Devils Punchbowl", in southern England, UK. The Devils Punchbowl Surprisingly, i hope. I took this shot with a Nokia N95 5MP camera. (camera phone) Hope you like it.
Hi Alex, I just checked the link that you provided in your post, I must say that it was a very good one, I liked the scenery its lush green and the view that you captured in your camera was a very good one indeed. I got a Nikon D90 this Christmas and will post some interesting ones as soon as I click some interesting ones. Thanks for sharing such work of excellence.
You're welcome. The shot was taken in a very beautifull part of the country not too far from where i live. Glad you liked the shot.
