The article "Use Rearm and SkipRearm to Delay and Skip Vista Activation (Almost) Forever" describes how one can possibly obtain almost 360 days of non activation usage of Vista. It details that testing has shown that following it's 8 times of process, along with the 'given' Microsoft times of 3, equals almost the 360 days; and makes it sound like that is it ... forever.

My question is, if one reformats the hard drive, and reinstalls Vista, does that not 'wipe out' any recorded times of using the process?

Or is the number of times used embedded into the BIOS? I am not knowledgeable in BIOS, so hope this question makes sense.

    TIA
