I am using a Dell Inspiron 1520. The BIOS has SLIC 2.1 as tested by RW-Everything.
Here are the steps I followed:
    1. Donwloaded the Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
    2. Downloaded the Dell Ultimate OEM from this thread(first post).
    3. Inserted the $oem$ folder in sources. Repacked the iso and burnt it on a DVD.
    4. Did a clean install on laptop. No prompt for product key or online activation.
    5. Also got the black color Dell logo in System
    6. Validated windows and it says Genuine.

But still then under Windows Activation it shows " 3 days until automatic activation. Activate windows now."

Could you please guide me on how to activate Windows now.

You could try slmgr.vbs -ilc <License file> and then slmgr.vbs -ato in cmd to activate if it doesnt do it automatically

Thanks a lot for your suggestions Snuffy and Ev1lM0nk3y.

I tested the DVD on one of my friend's laptop with SLIC2.1 and looks like cause was DVD itself. I am not sure, but perhaps I burnt it too fast and it got corrupted.

Finally I'm on Dell OEM Windows 7 Ultimate.
