Not that simple. HP Recovery Discs are not like the other OEM discs.

Well i can upload the F-S $OEM$ if anyone wants to but there's not much in there. Nope, its not an upgrade dvd, but its from the recoverydvd that was shipped with the computer.

Hi. In your HP OEM Windows7 post, two links that you posted have:

    (Auto Detects Edition ID)

Can U please explain to me what that means? I have what my system is calling " HP Compaq 6710b - Intel Core 2 Due T7250" and want to upgrade from XP Pro SP3 to Win 7 Ultimate. Which of the editions you posted is the one suiting my needs? what is the difference between the all editions version and the ultimate ?

Do I need to take the HP or the Compaq edition ?

Thanx and sorry if that sounds noobish Q to U

HP Beacuse you have a an HP laptop, right?

Auto detects edition ID means it detects automatically which version you installed and activates it.

Hello tcntad, but it appears the files are not win 7 installation files they are way too small. So How do I use them to do what your saying?

Haha, no these are just OEM customisations, so when installed your HP installation will look exactly like a 'real' HP windows 7 OEM setup.
