it is entirely up to your self personally i use xml files because i do unattended dvd's and you can add user name admin account partition drive e.c.t Still awaiting reply fro Vlad to see if those are genuine dell xml files, More out of interest that many kicking around.
He mentioned in the SLP Keys thread that he is in fact an employee of Dell's Alienware division so its a good chance they are genuine.. I wish I was still at my University job I had up until July. I wouldve had a whole pile of the Ultimate discs by now heh. I think what he meant in his reply above, he took the folders from the Dell discs, which are 5.7GB or so, and made his own from the regular Ultimate ISO which comes in at 3GB exactly.. Dell puts all the language packs and some of their crapware on the discs which is why theyre so huge..
sorry ... i wasn't online for a couple of days... Im not saying that there are not original dell $oem$ folders im am trying to say that I took it out of the OEM Disc and Used it to create a custom disc so the bloatware don't come with windows preloaded..
thanks... you even said it better than me... I want to apologize for my bad english and express my gratitude to those who took time to explain my posts...
Hehe no worries at all!! Just showing my gratitude for posting the folders!! Got me a nice 3.0GB Dell OEM install now on my trusty USB key just in case my Enterprise backup methods dont work for a reinstall..

TO: vladxed666 WOW! Good news! The uploaded by you OEM folder(s) looks the genuine one. And this is the first time we are able to see the good Dell stuff compare to the well-working but homemade-alike ones before. Sorry I have only one question - what was the point to upload the same folder twice as x86 and x64? I guess $OEM$ folder itself must be same for x64 & x86... Is it all about some difference in Autounattended.xml depends on 64-86 version? Sorry I didn't check yet... THANKS A LOT! Happy New Year 2010!
TO: urie well. ok. thanks 4 ur prompt! could u pls say a couple of words about the point of creation & use of Autounattend.xml both in x64 and x86? I believe it must be located in root directory of Win7 DVD, isn't it? 1. what is an advantage/convenience of this file? 2. is this file a part of the genuine Dell OEM DVD? 'cause I made my first Win7 Dell OEM DVD based on MS MSDN ISO and Dell $OEM$ folder months ago w/o this file and everything worked perfectly... thank you and Happy New Year!
Can we confirm where these folders are coming from. These don't seem to be original ! And "this" is a sticky ?
