OK then but having lived through times that the world was running on 8-bit and 32-bit was sth we read about in futuristic articles, I can tell you that it's still a long way ahead for 64-bit. Linux was running on 64-bit systems probably 10 years before the first x86-64 processor even existed (and essentially all linux/unix code is 64-bit aware for decades), but it's still hell managing a system running 32-bit code in a 64-bit kernel.
That is exactly why I advise anyone with less than 4gb to stick with a 32bit OS. All x64 windows versions are 1/3 larger than their 32bit counterparts due to the fact it needs all 32bit libs as the majority of the software is still 32bit. Also 32bit application in a 64bit OS will run a fraction slower as they need to be emulated. I only run 64bit OS on systems with more than 4gb or if the whole OS is 100% 64bit without the need for libs and layers of 32bit emulation.
All these hundereds of new posts around the forums about Windows 7 RTM Build 7600. Nobody knews anything, isn't it? Nobody can tell whether Build 7600 is the final RTM Build, isn't it? Nobody knows exactly what this 7600.16385 Build is and if there is another Build coming, isn't it? I want Windows 7 Final as much as everyone else. But instead of spending the hole day by gathering information and speculating around, I will just calm down and wait 1-2 weeks to till the fog around the RTM is gone.
Keyword here is "fraction" .The speed difference is so small that users dont even notice.Atleast i didnt with near all my 80+ different programs. In games the difference is bit more visible tho
OMG I think I just cum all over my screen, thinking about all this Windows 7 has made me pre-ejaculate. jees calm it people nobody really has a clue what is going on. Lets wait for abit huh.
Lol, they officially announced it. But the changed their mind when they saw it was leaked - obviously they won't tell you it's RTM otherwise people would all download it thus not buy the original Windows 7 when it comes out... Don't be silly people, of course it's RTM.
Well as long as "Retail_Ultimate-GRMCULXFRER_EN_DVD" is written in there, it won't be the final build, the final builds don't have ultimate written in it.
Wrong!!! Windows will not be build in unified distro anymore. You can install any version you want by deleting ei.cfg in img.
