its the way you copy a iso dude, u cant just copy the files over. and expect to work it wont boot idd. install nero, and use the large ISO file (4gb something) and start to copy the ISO. once nero is installed right click the iso, and burn with nero. don't copy stuff over in the nero explorer, you will destroy some hidden stuff and some settings used to make it boot, these settings are in the ISO file. not anymore if u use the files in it, in your own sorta way
Right... I've created an ISO with ImgBurn also. Didn't work... I have to find the correct method with ImgBurn, because I swore myself off of Nero a long time ago -- it's bloatware. I'm assuming there's just a bootable 'flag' when creating an ISO. can anyone recommend any other programs other than Nero to do this?
Or you could use CDBurnerXP which has the benefit of being free Just run the program and select from the file menu: "Write Disc from ISO file". Then select the image and you're good to go.
still cant find how to implement that specific file into a 'bootable iso' with cdburnxp... but i'm still looking.
if installed you can also use WAIK tools to create a bootable iso .... into disk "c:" create the \7work folder into 7work , create \iso and \dvd sub folders c:\7work |__\DVD |__\ISO copy all files and windows folders structure into \dvd copy etfsboot.com from DVD\boot into 7work then from 7work dir ; run the simple batch here called by example "startiso.bat" so later you can use this batch for other win 7 bootable iso creation Code: @echo Off set WORKLW=C: set WORKDIR=7Work set WAIK=C:\Program Files\Windows AIK set LANG=fr-FR set WD=%WORKLW%\%WORKDIR%\DVD set ISO=%WORKLW%\%WORKDIR%\ISO echo Create bootable ISO from DVD files... "%WAIK%\Tools\x86\oscdimg.exe" -n -m -betfsboot.com "%WD%" "%ISO%\Windows 7.iso" echo Everything is done! The ISO is in the directory "%ISO%" pause exit working fast and perfect here ... other tip with power iso or ultra iso programs load a bootable iso from a previous buid .... delete all files and folders and replace them with new build files rebuild the iso .... it's done .....
Thats what I was wondering also. Anyway Kaper is offline (at this time) but I only have 6 parts left and I will give more info later once it is done if Kaper does not first.
This is what I'm doing: Unraring to a directory, then load it into vLite to create a bootable .iso Initially it threw some errors while loading the files, so I took ownership of the contents of the folder and tried it again, and it loaded into vLite without issue.
Download finished and Kaper's RS links are the Windows files, not the ISO. I also get an error during extraction:install.wim file is broken (might just be my download, but I should mention it in case it is corrupt)
OK thanks for the reply. I will give it a go and if it does not work for me I will just swap out the install.wim file and that should fix it.
why not boot in repair mode (f8 on boot)then go to cmd and run setup.exe from there, clean install no iso needed / no bootable dvd or usb stick plain and simple
