I have a laptop - Lenovo IdeaPad Windows 8 - UEFI and Legacy bios enabled. My old laptop - Lenovo IdeaPad - I had just installed a new hard drive - Windows 7 64 - and I have a program installed on it that I really need on the new laptop that is not Windows 8 compatible. I want to swap out the hard drives. Everything I read talks about new install of Windows 7 instead.

Do I use the updown8 and downgrade? Will that allow me to still boot and run UEFI with Windows 7 64? I assume I will have to delete all the partitions first - right? It has the Lenovo 1 key recovery partition on it plus the OS but I'm not worried about keeping that.

What is the best way to do this? TIA
