I mentioned laptop, because that seems to happen even more on 2.5" HDDs than on 3.5" HDDs. Yours is a 3.5", but there's a chance it suffers from the same type of phenomenon. And when I say wipe, you must use MHDD, "dd" or the like. Parted Magic is one Linux distro that's easy to use for that... But I wouldn't try to use MHDD, because it can't detect HDDs with AHCI enabled and it's DOS-based.
Using Standard edition here, mostly the portable, as i use it from usb pen on several machines. Nice tool to check HDDs in case of doubts. Recommend this as it is easy to use .
Hi all, Backed-up my data and used MiniTool Partition Wizard Professional Edition to wipe (choosing Fill Sectors With Zero) the DISK. After that, I used HDD Regenerator to repair in boot mode, then got some sleep I waked up and found the HDD health and performance are 100%! HURRAY! Is this HDD (by the way, it is WD Caviar green) reliable for the long run or it is vulnerable to any damage or sudden failure? Thank you
