uup-converter v75 updated - Fixed: adding Windows 11 Cumulative Update MSU for boot.wim can fail due cleanup after adding SafeOS DU for winre.wim the issue could also be avoided if LCUwinre option is enabled thanks @inTerActionVRI for notifying and @Enthousiast for testing the fix
Tested and confirmed. Everything is OK! I don't know why, but the script doesn't work. It simply says: Code: Finished Press any key to exit. But the file I need is not there. I've used the following files: Code: Microsoft-Windows-EditionSpecific-EnterpriseGN-Package.cab Microsoft-Windows-EditionSpecific-EnterpriseGN-Package.psf I think you need to update the "PSFX Repack" script.
You need to use the ready ESD file baseless Packages (not updates) do not contain update.mum so the script skip it you can delete this line if you want Code: if not exist "%_tmp%\update.mum" exit /b
# PSFX MSU Maker - Standalone command script to create Windows 11 LCU MSU file out of the UUP update files ## Requirements Spoiler Code: - Mandatory : LCU psf file - Mandatory : LCU cab or wim file - Mandatory : *.AggregatedMetadata cab file - Mandatory : DesktopDeployment cab file or SSU cab file - Recommended: DesktopDeployment cab file and SSU cab file - Optional : DesktopDeployment_x86.cab file example: Code: 886fa207-124a-4633-9f08-438f1c614f28.AggregatedMetadata.cab DesktopDeployment.cab SSU-22000.345-x64.cab Windows10.0-KB5007262-x64.cab Windows10.0-KB5007262-x64.psf ## Usage Spoiler - Extract this package zip file to a folder with a simple path - Copy or move the needed files next to the script, then run PSFX2MSU.cmd - Alternatively from command prompt, run the script and provide path to the folder containing the files example: Code: PSFX2MSU.cmd E:\Downloads\uup-converter\UUPs - The result msu file will be located in the same source folder (current or provided) example: Code: Windows10.0-KB5007262-x64.msu ## Remarks Spoiler - To install the created msu on live OS, you must use command line tool DISM.exe you cannot install it normally by launching the msu itself directly example: Code: DISM /Online /Add-Package=E:\Downloads\uup-converter\UUPs\Windows10.0-KB5007262-x64.msu - The script do not require administrator privileges however, if you get Access Denied errors, run it as administrator - DesktopDeployment.cab and DesktopDeployment_x86.cab will be constructed, if not provided - If DesktopDeployment_x86.cab is not provided or creation failed, the result msu can be used as follows: x64 msu: installed on live OS only, or require x64 Host OS to add msu for x64 image arm64 msu: installed on live OS only, or require arm64 Host OS to add msu for arm64 image - The script can create MSU only for one LCU at a time (based on AggregatedMetadata.cab) v5 can create MSU per each AggregatedMetadata.cab, however, it's best not to mix files because DesktopDeployment files can't coexist for different builds, and SSU extraction might fail - Advanced: edit the script to change the manual option IncludeSSU or enable debug mode _Debug - Difference with uup-converter MSU creator: uup-converter can construct DesktopDeployment files from install.wim (if SSU not available/provided) - Windows 11 build 25336 and later introduced new format for LCU msu container it's now a wim file instead cab file, and the inner manifests file is also wim instead cab ## Download v5 (Support MSU WIM files for builds 25336+) https://github.com/abbodi1406/WHD/raw/master/scripts/PSFX_MSU_5.zip https://pixeldrain.com/u/3iv9iubF v3 https://github.com/abbodi1406/WHD/raw/master/scripts/PSFX_MSU_3.zip https://pixeldrain.com/u/o4LgJ2hw

I can't remember for sure, but when servicing an offline image with w10UI using set Cleanup=1 and set ResetBase=1, is it correct that superseded files are only compressed and not deleted?
For 18362 and later, superseded files by LCU are removed, superseded files by other updates are compressed for pre 18362, all superseded files are removed
I am wanting to use w10ui to integrate updates for Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 I’ve looked through the forums and haven’t found any information regarding which options to enable or disable: .net 3.5/cleanup system image etc What are the recommendations?
The meaning of those options? explained in W10UI-ReadMe.txt recommendation? enable all three Net35, Cleanup, ResetBase
Would it worth to include XAudio 2.9 redistributable? https://www.nuget.org/packages/Microsoft.XAudio2.Redist/ i managed to create a simple INF-based installer (with uninstall ability) the Managed DirectX assemblies will have separate installer/uninstaller entry (still in the same pack), for better portability or should i merge it with main installer?
Probably will be, as there's no reasonable way of knowing all applications that require it and then the ones that don't, so having it available makes the repack much more universal and it's not like such a runtime will take up crucial resources. However you see fit.
Hello@abbodi1406, So people are suggesting ideas. What about newer .NET Desktop Runtime? Code: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/5.0/runtime (Or maybe even v6.) Is it possible to make script for that? Thank you.
Script to make it lite or repack installer? it's similar to VC++14 installer (WiX wrapper for msi packages) is Desktop Runtime the most relevant? or others are needed?
A combined x86 and x64 repack installer I say. Well. I think just the desktop runtime should be enough. At least this is what I have to use and keep updated. So all the MSI packages in WindowsDesktop-Runtime-5.0.13-win-x64.exe and WindowsDesktop-Runtime-5.0.13-win-x86.exe. Hopefully it's easy to do. Thanks for considering.
