I think that I found an Acer 2.1 slic that match the acer certificate. It was a double slic (2.0 and 2.1) inside the ACPI05.ROM in the Aspire 7738G bios. I eliminated the 2.0 code from the rom and saved the remaining code in "Acer 2.1.bin". I checked with the Acer certificate and they match! Can someone verify it? thanks
This is no fake, but I hope that the elimination of the slic 2.0 code from the rom did not damage the slic. That is why I need someone else to verify it too. In the zip I included both the original rom with the dual slics (712 byte) and the modified file (374 byte). Anyone can download the bios from acer's site and open it with PBE 2.2.13 to verify it.
i checked. you pasted the pubkey of the old table into the new table and corrected the checksum? if only it were that easy... you don't think people would have done this 2 weeks ago if this worked?
