So i own a compal ifl90 which has a usb 2.0 webcam and today i got to my hands a broken acer aspire 7720g.. I took his processor his hard disk but i want to take his webcam too. So i started tearing everything apart and that it i have just install his webcam to my laptop...I go to see a preview drive everything installed and seemed to work....I open windows live messenger go to tools->sound and video setting and in step of configuring video the green light of the webcam lighted but no video preview just a dark thing.....Any idea please i need this webcam so bad.... thanks in advance My regards ribben
make sure its ok in the 'device manager' also you may need the crystaleye software from acer and theres a piece of test software called Eurosoft QA-Win32, if you can find that, fire it up and click on capture devices and you will see the webcam picture in a small box, only if the device works and the driver is installed
