Acer e1 510 linux model boot problem

    I Have purchased acer aspire e1 510 model with preinstall linux.I want to install windows 7 or windows 8 in it.But in bios there is only UEFI option in boot mode.(no legecy mode).I can't boot fron dvd rom

    You should be using UEFI these days. Find out if there is a BIOS update for your laptop and update it. Turn off Secure Boot in the BIOS. Then see if Windows 7/8 shows up in the BIOS boot menu. If not, maybe the new new BIOS has a legacy boot option.

    Also try making a USB flash drive with Windows 7 or 8 on it and see if it allows booting from that.

    Finally, if Linux (and the GRUB 2 loader) is still on there, you can hold down the left shift key during boot. Go into the GRUB console and chainload the Windows /EFI/Boot/bootx64.efi or /EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi. You can even do this from a Linux live DVD. I've done it before.

    insert windows 8 64bit
    then it will show you in boot menu
    boot from dvd mode
    other wise it will show you only hdd, and network 4 & 6

    i have loaded windows 8 64bit oem latest

    i have purchased the same model but with windows 8.1. But i don't like it, and i wanted to install windows7 and it freezes and shut down during the installation.

    Aspire E1-510 boot problem solved

    Problem solved
    1 install x64 windows 8.1 no need to activate...
    2 goto "hxxp://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/BIOS/BIOS/BIOS_Acer_2.11_A_A.zip?acerid=635331539432680752&Step1=NOTEBOOK&Step2=ASPIRE&Step3=ASPIRE%20E1-510&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=AAP_2" and download v2.11 bios
    3 install this bios . instructions inside the zip
    4 reboot and press F2. change the setting to legacy mode and ENJOY with windows 7

    Hello to all,I would also like Windows7 on my E1-510,but before I try I have doubts about the drivers,I didn`t find none,only for Windows8,how did you manage to solve this?Cheers!

    Hello to all.

    So I have the same machine the same fking problem :)
    Everything is ok I understand what to do... But how to boot from the USB FLASH device.
    In the BIOS i have 7 possibilities:
    1.HDD
    2.CD ROM
    3. Ntwrk boot ipv4
    4. Ntwrk boot ipv6
    5.USB hdd
    6. usb cdrom
    7. usb fdd.

    Also i bought it with some sh**y Limpus Linux

    So i'll be very greatful if someone expalin to me like to an idiot.
