I'm trying to get an Acer Aspire E5-573G ready to sell and I have encountered a weird issue. When installing windows 10 the laptop automatically shut down within 1 minute. It even does this during the setup process. After I got setup installed It says "locking" and shuts off. When windows 8.1 was on it I let it run for nearly 24 hours with no issues. This is only happening with Windows 10 which makes no sense. I used the windows 10 media creation tool to install Windows 10 and tried installing it from my disc with no luck. Can someone help me figure this out?

You need, A.S.A.P. take appart the laptop and clean dust that is clogging the disspation mechanism ...blocked air vents and the fan area. It could simply by that, but other factors can cause that also. Try first clean up the laptop. I you try to use the computer with that problem you could kill it for good...
That shutdown may be thermal protection.

could be a bad mobo a failing memory module or a bad battery is causing a short or a failing charger....try removing the battery and try to install the OS again.

I will try that today. I know the battery is dead. won't hold a charge at all.

Can you install windows 8, install all driver updates and then upgrade to 10?

If that works and the system no longer shuts down on its own you can export the drivers and then integrate them into a fresh install image.

1.) Did you re-install Windows 8 again after this happenend ? And does it work again ?

2.) Do NOT keep using a dead battery and do take the laptop apart to check the vent(s) and clean it.

3.) It can be a dying GPU as well.
