Struggling to get this to work properly. Followed the read me to a t & everything looks good. The app is activated, serial # is accepted up until I set the date back and connect the internet. Then it goes back to saying the serial number is not genuine buy another one. Any idea's ?
this means, that "activation.acronis.com" was contacted. modify your "hosts" file or set a firewall rule in your AV like mentioned in post #1, end of section "troubleshooting"
Thanks, I double checked my hosts file, I had forgotten the quotation marks on the entry, removed them and all is good.
This is what I wanted to check and I have been answered. Still using Acronis 2011 for WDC. In 2014 version and recent acronis wd versions, there is no right click to recover image. Thus one had to open the software and then browse the image. Has this feature been rectified in recent versions (or right click image to recover is back). Any other notable changes.
you can browse the image with doubleclick or mount/validate/recover by rightclick see links in post #1 to acronis forum and check removed features in 2015 version, also it is no longer possible to mount an image in read/write mode
Thanks. Will give it a shot over the weekend. The 2011 Acronis WD free still works for me in 8.1. Have not checked in windows 10 however.

nova-s. May there be another way or program instead using XBOOT? Because the program stopped be developed, and is still on Beta 14. I heard that the developer of the program died. Is it true?
@ Tanzeel or anyone, Has anyone noticed anything strange with the (post #49) Acronis Snap and Deploy 5 English - US (2) download links? When I open them in UltraISO they appear empty, I burn w/ImageBurn to a disc and Explorer shows empty but 731 MB's of content. All folder options/file properties are as before. The Acronis links from LostED work as normal ... thanks, michael clyde
so, even though all that's showing is the 2KB no-emulator (BOOT) file, the data is really there ...COOL Thanks again for the numerous boot.iso's you posted. michael clyde
I have searched but, Google must not be my friend. Does anybody know the difference between (post #49) ASD5 and ASD5-1134? Since the contents of those two iso's (about 200MB's diff) don't show up in Explorer or UltraIso ((for me anyway) I can't determine the difference. thanks for any enlightenment, michael clyde
