Success rate for cold back up is high even with the ATI 2013,it is just your preference now.

I personally use ATI 2013 on Windows 8 without any problems whatsoever (bare metal restore is very useful)
but I've just taken a look at AOMEI Data Backuper and it is VERY good but the only thing I've found is that you can't restore two partitions at the same time (like Sys reserved and C)

You have to restore one at a time - that aside it's FREE!!

Acronis True Image Home 2013 - Build 5587 had problems and is now not available. Official build you can now download is True Image Home 2013 Build 5551.

Well I've just used the bootable cd version with great success.
I have just bought an acer laptop that I want to multi boot with osx, win8 and Ubuntu.
It came with 4 partitions in all for recovery and such stuff so I made an image of it all on a usb hd (had to disable secure boot)
Repartitioned the hard drive, messed around with osx for a while then restored the image, reset secure boot and it's all back to factory and did it fast too, much faster than a re-install.

tried O&O , paragon , slow and large images like win backup and restore . macrium would not install on my pc ??

will try aomeitech . Acronis takes 360 mb of space , still it is PE based and Win PE is about 250 mb .
