In response I did try to make this happen however what occurred was that when Office 2010 recognized that some of the beta installation files were still on there it repaired them. Thus this really doesn't work out that well at all. And no it doesn't create a time bomb it just doesn't work...I don't think...
Just for your info about activating thru beta tokens.dat & caches.dat..... yes indeed it will activate the office 2010...but the MAK that you're using to activate it will expire in Oct 2010 if i am not wrong. For those who have activated thru this method push the PC date forward to a year later or further. Now start any office program.. you will notice that a pop-up saying your office has expired. So this is definitely not a way to go
well actually IAMANOOB prooved that is is possible but it created a timebomb kinda like what Bulldog was saying.
I had some trouble doing it and even gave up on trying probably because I was too lazy on applying it all...
yea maybe, I really do not know exactly what IAMANOOB did but he prooved that is possible but said that is a stupid way to go because you make office expire because of the beta files lol. Maybe you could ask him what he did and who knows, maybe that info could help you out.
I don't roll that way I wanna make a hack which doesn't modify the files and can be easily reverted or uninstalled .... my philosophy stays if it can be installed there has to be a easy way to uninstall it... I wanna keep this 100% RTM and not a botched beta/RTM/Franken build...

You are missing one important point for the thing does not work in the long run. Frankenbuilds are horrible hacks and will eventually cause problems either with the program itself or the computer on which it is installed or with both of these scenarios.
Amen to that BusyKid!!!!!!!! What's even more silly about this is that these same users can easily install and activate the VL version with the Mini-KMS, which even provides a service for those newbie users who are afraid or forgetful. Instead I see users banging their heads against the wall making work for themselves. These users are going to have a fun time when the eventual release of Office 2010 SP1 arrives and the SP destroys their hack. In the case of the VL/KMS users, a simple key change at most will be needed as I'm expecting the SP will blacklist the VL key we're using in the Mini-KMS currently.

It worked for me. Did you place all the files in the correct folder? Also even though you place the files you still have to tell office to activate online! Just a little bit of detail that was not mentioned lol
The best bet in that case then would be some sort of OEM activation. Smorgan is trying something like that but he is not sure if it would even work.
Pretty much no promises there I'm pretty much working on a whole bunch of stuff at the moment... The first is modding a hack I already have for windows... the second is playing with the iso of office 2010... And the last is making a batch file to automate the current one that needs it...
