Fortunately for me, the Shelmo-Tuvi method now works on win 7 ult 64 +office 64 bit. Activated for 180 days. Retail activation would be good for people who have not downloaded anything (retail is 600-700MB) versus 3.25-3.74 gb for volume. I have everything downloaded and so prefer to stay with the activated volume version till retail can be activated easily.
There was a thread here dedicated to the Shelomo-Tuvi activation method (since deleted by mods, I think). In it, some users reported that it did not work when x86 Office 2010 was installed on a x64 Windows system. Is that still the case or has it been rectified? Anybody successfully activate x86 Office on x64 Windows with Shelomo-Tuvi? (I have to install x86 version for add-in compatibility). I agree the >3GB VL Select Editions are the best option to date. They are the only way to genuinely activate without butchering system files and are the only source if you want both Project 2010 and Visio 2010 in x86 and x64. The VL Combo editions released on Wzor would be ideal except, for some reason, he didn't release a VL combo version of Visio 2010
The thread was unfortunately deleted but I managed to revive it some what and put it into a repository it should work with x86 on a x64 machine.... I don't know why he didn't release a combo edition with visio in it but I thought it would be possible to combine both select editions into one DVD size thing... Not sure if thats possible but it should be.... I would recommend if you wanted to do that to just download both Select editions and then just mount them with daemon tools when you wanna use them.... Its a shame that they deleted tuvi's thread cause it was really handy....
Just FYI, there are reports on page 31-32 of this thread: "'Activate Office 2010 Pro RTM-escrow VL, New clean method (without changing files)" regarding Tuvi's activator not working with x86 Office on x64 Windows.
