Activate win8ProWMC without first activate the Pro version

    Greetings to you all!
    I activated my Windows 8 PRO Retail (+WMC) using these instructions from first page ( post by FaiKee )
    My Windows is activated and works perfectly.Of course, I am grateful.
    I need your opinion, how long will this last for?
    Whether to 31.01.2013 or forever,or...? Thank you very much.

    My friend tried to activate his Windows 8 Pro with the data.dat attached in this thread but gets the error message like this. Any help?

    I guess you have probably downloaded the data.dat file in the attachment, it might be a KMS-activated data.dat and is quite useless after the MS patch, I have removed it to avoid further confusions.

    Download the data.dat I posted in the Update(in the OP), this one is working ATM. :D

    The WMC key won't work on KMS-activated win8Pro; it will certainly work on win8Pro activated with, say, the $14.99 or $39.99 purchased retail key. :D

    There are a few proven methods if you read back in this thread that tell you what has worked for some ..So far that's the best we have .. Or the $14.99 upgrade path

    I need some for tests as well if you are willing. Trying to create a sort of mechanism to switch a windows to go installation to work with 3 computers.

    Here ,if someone wants to try it - I have succeeded to activate both virtual and physical machine with this same data.dat.

    I wish to say that the data.dat edit does work. It even bet Microsoft (As I had a valid retail key (Plus Pack) they couldn't get to activate). I wish to seriously thank-you so much. :worthy:

    Your updated data.dat file named as KMS+FullRetail+WMCx64. Will your updated data.dat work in x86 PC's ?

    The data.dat is good for both x86 and x64; but you can also use the file supplied by kizo2703 in post #422 above (also updated the link to OP).

    Did anybody else get a NEW Genuine WMC key from M$ without asking...
    I just rec'd an email with a NEW KEY... mailed at 7:05PM...

    After using retail data.dat + WMC key, system properties shows activated. But slmgr -ato still non-genuinates. Is that how it is right now?

    Can you explain more about the data.dat(retail) is it the $14 key?
