s1ave77: I installed Windows 8 Pro (en_windows_8_x64_dvd_915440.iso), with the serial that ends with CRYQH.

After those steps, All I have to do is to create the iso ("oscdimg -bC:\win8\iso\boot\etfsboot.com -h -u2 -m -lWIN8-PRO-WMC C:\win8\iso C:\win8\ProWMC.iso") and it's done, right?

Still works. KMS-ed a live server last night, then got the key, installed it. Activated WMCPro perm:worthy::biggrin:

I backed up the KMS activation, and also the WMC activation (2 sets of the activation Store folders for each). So if I reinstall the Windows 8 Pro via ISOs, can I just replace the KMS activation first, then after it activates, put in the Microsoft free key and reactivate the WMC Pro?

You should install directly a Pro with WMC to activate I think. Check the Windows 8 AIO topic for how to.
I doubt activation will work if only Pro.

I have tested both, and for me, the best way is:
    (a) for a first install: Use Windows Pro non-VL with KMS key(or else you won't have the "add features" option), activate with KMS, upgrade with free key, WMC is added and activation is set, backup with ATM.
    (b) for a re-install: use Ambidav's "W8Pro with WMC only" (see AIO thread), run ATM *twice*.

I hope I didn't forget anything. Thanks again to everybody that taught me this!

I think the better option is a fresh install [point (a)], then with Acronis or Macrium or whatever you want create an image to restore. ;)

Windows pro non-VL? Therefore kms also active retail versions and not just the VL editions? I did not think so. Do you confirm that activates both?
    Thanks

Well, for a long time I also went with Acronis images exclusively. Now I see the merit in both image backups *and* install media. So it's a question of personal preference I think, I wouldn't want to tell anybody which one is "better" and which one is "worse". It's nice to have the choice!
BTW, installing from an ISO from USB (using eg. JFX's WinNTSetup) is also very fast and conveniens, specially if you use autounattend.xml (and some kind of Postinstall system for your aps). This way, you also have a "Out-Of-Box Experience"!!

Yes it does. The Retail version accepts GLVK keys both during installation and later, and can be KMS activated. There is NO reason to install from the VL edition, which only has drawbacks (such as the missing "Add Feature" button).
