Activating Microsoft Windows 8 Pro with media center for free with legitimate key!

    Once Win 8 Pro WMC has been legitimately permanently activated with the free M$ WMC key does that mean the PC/Laptop never "phones home" or will it if the hardware changes past a certain point??

    W8 always phones home,otherwise how would it determine there is hardware change, push updates and such....dont worry man, :D

    LOL I requested for another key and it arrived in less than 5 hours again! My first one did too hahaha! :yucky:

    I installed an RTM ISO of Pro x64 before activating using a WMC key. After activating with it, it says here in cmd when I checked license details (run slmgr.vbs /dli or slmgr.vbs /dlv), my OS is now a RETAIL version. Well it's not much of a difference at all because the RTM and retail versions have the same build number. And take note of my product key. It's the WMC upgrade key I received from M$. So it totally bypassed the KMS activation I did first. Now I was thinking whether or not M$ had collected details about the first KMS activation I did. I can't recall if I cleared KMS server after that. What do you think will happen?

    No - that only clears the pointer to that server - the KMS activation remains stored irrespective.. like I said in a previous post - highly unlikely M$ will do a binary check on data.dat ....So no worries :cool:

    Is there any other KMS servers? I can't activate my Win 8 Pro with fourdeltaone at lunar ones... Please Help. :(

    If you're using the lunar KMS server, change your time zone to Cairo and synchronize using time.nist.gov. Then try activating again.

    Re-read the first page of this thread, in case you might have missed something and use another KMS server. Revert back to your original time zone. Then start over.
