    I have a question. Sorry if it has been asked before! So, is it likely that Microsoft will fix this in the future? I don't want to go through the troubles of installing Windows 8 and then having it blocked in a few weeks due to a patch via Windows Update.

    They could patch their Activation server to not accept KMS activated clients.

    Well, now that this is super famous (posted by Neowin and TheVerge and others), do you think Microsoft will try to do something to prevent this? I can do this thing any time before Jan 31, 2013 and have Windows 8 forever. Right?

    Probably nothing changes, but they fixed the Upgrade Offer pretty fast, so you never know.

    Guys, I am a total noob (at this forum), and sorry if it was asked, but I'm not understanding where W8 Pro comes from in the first place? It's pirated right?

    You rip a copy, install it on your PC and use the KMS key to activate it, then use the WMC key to activate that.

    What key do you use during the installation of W8 Pro?

    Just a quick question, have browsed the thread and not really found an answer. Do I have to actually add the WMC features to get activated? I don't need it / want it.

    You've to add the Media Center features to your Windows 8 Pro to get it activated... :shisha:

    But once activated, go to Programs and features-turn windows features on or off and disable wmc, it wont affect activation.

    To activate without a legit purchased key you have two options. KMS or using the WMC method described in this thread. If you don't want WMC, just KMS.

    Thank you all for your quick response. Already activated by KMS, but wondering if I perhaps should use this one, to be permanently activated.
