You can try in-place upgrade.

Now just use your windows 8 install disc and try a upgrade to Pro, now this should give you Windows 8 Pro, without wmc.. if this does not work.. there is no other easy way to remove it.

 

I just applied for keys (2 emails) this afternoon ,in both cases I got the message that I would recieve the keys within 72 hours .

 

Is there any chance that Windows 8 permanently activated by this method will be deactivated by any microsoft update exploit in future?

 

Once permanently activated, M$ cant do a thing to de-activate it. That's the beauty and cost of having a activation method that locks you to a machine. Its hard to have a universal crack, BUT once your machine is activated, its even harder for M$ to undo any loophole like this one.

yup, same here...the page it says 72hrs but i have received few emails in just few minutes to various email addresses i have used. Maybe it depends on the email domain used when applying for the WMC upgrade?

I would love to get a hold of the windows 8 promo code in return for the WMC upgrade key, anyone has any promo codes their willing to share?

 

I've used a gmail, an outlook.com and a hotmail address, so far nothing, and we're just a few hours shy of the 72 hours. Requested using a KMS-activated Win 8 Pro.

Perhaps via a Windows Defender update?.. that's why I disable that crap

 

My win8 claims to be activated. I used the KMS method, but when I enter my valid WMC update key its says activate first. I did try an activation tool in the past. What can I do ?

Yes. This still works. I got the key and it is activated.

 

For downgrade you have to start setup.exe from \sources\-folder of install disk, not the one in the root folder, it´s essential .

 

Keys were still delivered, had to wait nearly 50 hrs for them. At least two new keys to share with some pals, got interested after reading in one of the various articles in the net . Windows 8 for free seems to have some charme .

Hello everyone.
I'm sorry if this is a noob question, please bear with me.
I got my activation key from Microsoft today (after well over 72 hours -.-).
I have windows 7 installed on my computer already, i want to dual boot with windows 8 on a separate partition.
But my question is,the very first post by udit247 said that the requirement is Windows 8 Pro RTM, where do i get a copy of Windows 8 Pro RTM from? I checked Technet, it only had Windows 8 Enterprise RTM on its downloads page.
Does this whole method work with Enterprise RTM too? If not can someone link me to the correct download page?
All help is appreciated. Once again sorry if this is a stupid question

 

Is this key online or offline activation?
Meaning can I activate my windows 8 with KMS (on a VM or internal network) and upgrade to WMC key without going online at all?

I ask because if its only online activation, MS could change it in the future so that it doesnt allow a KMS activated windows to use these keys.
If its offline activation, I could just install the RTM and not do any updates or connect the network until after I activate.

As others have said I believe its very difficult for MS to deactivate an already activated windows, but probably they can prevent future activations, even if you already have received your key, you may lose it if you ever need to reinstall windows in the future.

Does this mean the key doesn't change after WMC activation? So I cannot simply read out new key and use it for fresh install without KMS activation?
