Activating Microsoft Windows 8 Pro with media center for free with legitimate key!

    Why does this work? So after you install the WMC you don't need to KMS activate every 180 days?

    Just a question, I have activated with WMC key and now says permanently activated, if I change a hardware item (like HDD) will I loose activation? :confused:

    Changing hardware is considered a major change. U will lose activation but some posters had tried the phone in method after changing

    HDD to get reactivated.

    In XP times I read something about saving disk signature.
    Maybe this could work.

    use diskpart
    command: uniq disk (read) uniq disk id=xxx (set)

    never tried it but maybe works. of course this has to be done while pe mode and before applying wim

    Basically they are counting your KMS activation as a retail key then when you apply the wmc pack they give you a brand new key for that. The new key you get activates just like you bought Windows at a store assuming you make Win 8 WMC dvd.

    True! But.... After applying the WMC key and rebooting as a genuine Win8pro /w WMC, I checked for the Windows 8 key using the "recover keys" app. It showed a completely different key than the install key, the KMS key or the free WMC key.

    So, what is this new key? Is it a full Win8pro+WMC key? Can it be used for a clean install?

    A lot of the keyfinding apps show an incorrect key for some reason.

    Not necessarily, I know some that have cloned the old HDD and restored to the NEW LARGER FASTER HDD, and never lost Activation ... but did have to reboot 2 times to get Full Activation Status.
    I also have use the SAME WMC Key more than 1 times to become Permanent Activated with Win 8 Pro... You use to get 2 changes FREE then DeActivated on 3d Major Change...
    Windows 8 will go Belly-UP (IMHO) if 1. add more Memory = Deactivation, 2. add newer Video Card = Deactivation. 3. Change HDD from IDE to SATA or SSD = Deactivation.

    It wont get deactivated once it is permanently activated.....
