    As you said before, there are massive amount of stuffs in the installation, so downgrade is better choice.

    I have got and installed and activated windows 8 pro (VL) with a KMS server.
    Now i would like to revert to windows 8 pro (not VL) in order to be able to install WMC & activate permanently wind 8 with my MS emailed WMC key.
    How can I do that simply without formattingt ? thanks a lot

    Just install the key. The whole point of the exercise and this thread is that you can enter the WMC key into a KMS-activated Win8.

    cannot install the WMC key on a VL installation. Must install Win8Pro non-vl with retail key then change key to VL, activate, and then WMC key. Otherwise the add features is missing because of the VL edition.

    While on the topic, can Win8Pro-MC be installed fresh with a WMC key and be done with it all? Or does the system need activated before it will except the WMC key?


    I should read more and work less sigh... :yucky:

    See, this is why I keep you around Red! haha Yeah, I think I briefly read that at one point, but didn't let it sink in. I like the simply entering the WMC key. The less the steps the better.

    I can't see why people beat themselves up with KMS if they have free WMC key

    Thanks Kelorgo, as you can see a lot of people can't keep up with all the KMS/ ProWMC/ data.dat/ Hostkey/ etc. etc. anymore. One of the only reasons I can still keep up (more or less) is clear and well written contributions by people like you. Please keep it up, very much appreciated!
    It will be very interesting to see where thing are going from here...

    Any new KMS servers? All the existing ones don't work. I get an invalid service message.
