Activating Microsoft Windows 8 Pro with media center for free with legitimate key!

Question about the results found by rrohela on kelergo method:

I would like to know if this would work on a fresh install of a Windows Pro activated with an upgrade key (say from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 8 Pro). In other words is an upgrade key considered a retail key.

A different question:
I have read through this very interesting thread and I have not found any mention about phone activation. I have used this successfully since Dec 12, 2012 on several machines. Is this topic not mentioned here bacause it is explained on a different thread ?

 

why don't you tell us then together we will decide if tall or short

 

1. yes upgrade key are retail and will work

2. we are not going to talk about phone activation in MDL, we may get DMCA Notification

whole process of activation lies on that you must have win8pro WMC is installed on your system. then you can following the above process activate your windows 8 pro WMC. but if you first installed win8 pro and activated it through KMS (or any means but not with genuine key) and then want to add wmc using wmc key (either you got it free or purchased it) then this upgrading process now checks/validates your used win8 pro key. obviously during validation MS finds that the key used is not the unique one and do not allow you to install wmc. it starts uninstalling/reverting the process of install in the half way.

in no way you can install wmc via online using wmc key if your windows 8 pro is not activated using unique retail key.

but if you used pre-integrated wmc with windows 8 pro then you can activate it using the hacking method mentioned by you.

I've been trying for 3 days with a couple gmail and Hotmail addresses and today, a Hotmail one finally went through. I received my email seconds later.
It seems their service is just overloaded.

 

It seems that they have tighten up the checking process quite a bit. You are getting this message because you have already requested a key. It used to be that only a different email address and may be a different IP was sufficient but now as soon as you reach the page to get key they run a script and apparently they collect quite a lot of information to avoid that you can ask two keys.
I have tried to figure out what you need to change (IP, machine ID?, ???) to get a new key without success.
If anybody has the information it would be nice to let us know :!:

 

From what iv been able to tell they only allow 1 email addy from one domain and from the same IP. I have my own domain where I created 2 email accounts with the same domain name. I requested a wmc key using the first one and I recieved it in less than 5mins. the second request I made was within 5mins and it gave me the the error about could not process order or what ever. Then I remoted into another computer on a different ISP and used the same email addy as the second request and it when through. So im thinking you can only request 1 WMC key per IP per email domain. But thats just my guess.

Just tried some trick to have the activation date to today instead from the data.dat what you copy use your method.

This Is what I did:

1) Installed my Win8 Pro+WMC, with own data.dat (win8 pro-KMS-upgrade WMC). NOT connected to internet.
2) During Instal I used a new Free WMC email key.
3) After instal was not activated but checked the key with keychecker and It was the new free WMC key.
4) Collected the data.dat from the folder SPP-Store and putted on my desktop.
5) Connected to internet, tried to activate and get the good error 0xC004C4AA.
6) Disconnect my internet, stopped SPP service "stop spp service"' got error (was already stopped).
7) Copied the data.dat from my desktop in the folder SPP-Store.
8) Put In the same free WMC key (same key as during setup) with command "slmgr /ipk
9) Connected to internet. and use the command "slmgr /dlv" and "slmgr.Vbs -xpr"
10) In both casses "Activated" with the date from TODAY.
11) Did Windows update, No problems.
12) Made a backup with ATM

Please try this , and confirm If this Is working not only by me.

Pretty much what I have been seeing, now save your latest data.dat if you become "non-genuine just copy it back into the store folder.
Your tokens.dat and data.dat are now in-sync and you don't even need to -ipk using the fully activated version of your data.dat.

Obviously you should just save the contents of your store folder but it is interesting that the Activation History and Non-Genuine state seem to be stored only in this one file.

If you completely delete the data.dat (backup recommended) it will no longer accept upgrade keys for WMC. I would presume if you ever do get a Full WMC Key this would be the easiest way to convert it to a full product without the activation history.

Is this really MS's Genuine Validation scheme, a scheduled background online -ato. Maybe I found WAT, this is a bit in the EULA that is interesting:

 

I don't know if this is any valuable info, but I've noticed that the activation store files (spp\store data.dat, tokens.dat and cache\cache.dat) change when updating certain OS components from Windows Update. Has the OS been in the absolutely same patch level (pure RTM for example) when trying to restore the store files and activation state?

 

Didn't quite get you there. Replace data.dat in the store folder with what ? and when you say PK you are referring to the WMC key which I received via email ?

Excuse my ignorance in the matter but never in my life have I experienced such an awkward copy protection ... Not even starforce was that bad!

 

Instead of everyone going through all this trouble trying to get genuine Windows 8, just buy the software for $15. Trust me its not worth the time and hassle.

If you pay for a legit key you have nothing to worry about, why are you even complaining... pirate... arrrrr.

 

Actually there is a tiny problem and I hope you are aware of it.... if you will need to reinstall your machine ... I'm afraid that if you bought the online key ... you can re-activate it online only once more In a nutshell it's like the DVD region counter you have a limited number of chances . That is why I for one didn't convince myself into buying it as yet.

 

Cos it goes against the pirate code to get a legit key .... arrrrr
