DISCONNECT from internet open CMD with admin right type slmgr -ato you will get the below error msg close cmd reboot you will get today's date

Why people care about activation date? When you activate Windows 8 PRO via KMS, in the activation window it says "Windows is activated until…" and a date (so if you were to install it today, it would say it's activated until May 2013). After installing the WMC upgrade on Windows 8 PRO, the window just says "Windows was activated on…" and the date of activation. That means the activation is permanent. When you install the upgrade key, that replaces the existing product key,- only the new upgrade key is used for future checks. Windows won't check the key you used to install because it no longer has it...

PS. I've added to my script ability to maintain Software Protection service,- if it stopped, script will start it before activation process.

 

I am trying to get one more WMC key from microsoft website, but it say "We couldn't process your order"...anyone still able to request for free WMC key from microsoft?

 

I have same problem i try different browser, different e-mail, even try proxies i am having same error as you have do not know why. Does anyone has any idea?
Even tried on Wmware Workstation Windows 8 Pro.

Did you even read or followed one of the KMS to WMC threads?
How do you think that MS can block all those that want to upgrade from a KMS activated to WMC? In any case not by guessing!

Your statement that the KMS key is removed from the system is also not true, check your register because it's there.
And that same key is also stored in your .dat file, who knows where else.

For now and as long that you don't /ato against a MS server this is a work around, but as already repeatedly mentioned, by the first WGA check your bubble will burst.

1st of all , thanks u guys for sharing .just activate mine wmc . using same datadat method . but I have encounter a slow browser windows 8. in windows 7 , browsing was fast on all browsers. clean install to windows 8 pro with no hardware changes and browsing is extremely slow. even off window defender , firewall ,no added 3rd party anti virus . noticed that some pages open up could take up to 3-8 seconds. any one could help.

 

Was able to activate online via GUI, but running /ato via CMD leads still to instant deactivation (0xC004C4AA).
But normally no need for this step. Do it offline to set new activation date.

 

Look for my last post here ppl .... for me it worked, idk if it will work for you ... slmgr /ato leads into success message or what .. not gonna try wanna keep 12/25/2012 activation date to consider this a christmas gift from M$

Also, if u do any kind of offline activation (phone activation should also work) look into Event Viewer/Windows Logs/Application and there look for Security-SPP. I have no error/warning but offline activations and phone activations do. However, this does not affect the actual activation state but still this is a kind of trace after something illegal ...

Nope, due to illegal and definitly not elegant.

with my method activation date on line via GUI was today....

 

Nope, did it manually. After inputting key and activating via GUI once, my activation date is from data.dat. When running activation attempt offline afterwards, date changes to current date.

 

strange behaviours...

what about a upgrading from Pro to Pro wmc with my method?

never read about it, useful for not reinstalling all...
