Activating Microsoft Windows 8 Pro with media center for free with legitimate key!

an " yopmail.com " e-mail adress enter at hand
and the request was successfull

 

Then you can stop reading/writing on... Ain't that simple? Problem solved, pal; thank me later.

today I tried to activate Windows 8 Pro and Free MS WMC Key with the following steps :

2. added wmc using the "get more features with a new edition of windows", entered -QGJXW as product key.
3. did all windows updates - i think this is irrelevant to the activation process
4. went offline, ran cmd, stopped spp service.
5. replaced original data.dat with the one from whazzupsuperfly
6. installed my own wmc key via slmgr /ipk
7. went online and tried to activate: 0xc004c4aa error
8. went offline again, stopped spp service again (this might still be inactive since before, so again irrelevant)
9. replaced data.dat again
10. installed my own wmc key again with slmgr /ipk

It did not activate. Is this still the Method to use or am I missing something here ?

Alwiz, it doesn't work for me anymore, either. Now I'm not a complete noob on this particular subject, I followed these steps many times before, but now it doesn't work anymore. Might be a coincidence, but I also did a complete update run, and after that it didn't work anymore. Now I really haven't done enough testing to check if this is the only reason. Maybe I should do yet another test install, without the updates.
I had a backup of the activation files, made with Advanced Token Manager in november, and restoring those (with ATM) *did* work! This is the best solution for me now. I mean: Even *if* the manual replacement of data.dat etc would work, that is really not very convenient (or "Pro"-looking), so I'm really glad I have at least one working method (until, of course, MS finds a way to block all ProWMC free keys). Just to be clear: The backup was made on a Win8ProWMC that was setup with a "AIO with Media Center only" (from the MDL HowTo). The restore was done on a system setup from a similar source (updated in Audit mode with all updates until december 24).

 

Tested this again, works for me still.

I did exactly as you posted however:

The VM I tested on had originally Win8Pro+GVLK_Not-Activated.
I installed CRYQH in win8Pro (Retail Default)
Followed from step2

The rest was as you posted, I just did not do any updates and used a NEW Unused Free WMC Upgrade Key.

You can try repeating the double data.dat swap as I have found that sometimes I end up still not-genuine in other tests. Possibly due to the sppsvc starting on schedule between swapping data.dat and installing your product key.

"In other tests" I was checking if you needed to disconnect the internet etc.
I can't see that MS will change much now they are probably OK with: If and When Online Genuine validation is implemented you will be flagged as no-genuine.

If online -ato is designed as a scheduled sppsvc check (say every 90 days like WAT) then resetting your installed date may help in addition to backing up the store folder.

I found using Kerglo's "Install Date Reset" you don't actually have to restart after running -ato OFFLINE. Once the above double swap is completed.
It also is normally sufficient to use:

you could script the entire process and use:

ipconfig /renew

to take your machine offline/online. If using IPv6 use:

ipconfig6 /renew

@ Hack I will do some more testing then. But strange anyway, because I tried this method 3 times Yesterday and it never worked. Usually Tipps from MDL forum are always great and worked with the first try.
A Genuine validation will come with updates, so if you just avoid the special update or genuine check when downloading from MS someone should be okay or not ?

Only thing we can do for now is enjoy every windows 8 day while waiting for Daz & Co. to hopefully release some other permanent activation tool..

On Windows 8 ProWMC installed from AIO, actived 7 days ago with a free key upgrade and the method describ in this post.
For testing the genuine status: i have download WMP 11 on MS site, this download require genuine validation check, i have accept and install the "addon" (LegitCheckControl.dll) from MS, and the result of the checking control was : " Your license is genuine "

Well, no reason to be dramatic about this. My opinion:
- We should be so thankful to DAZ for the Windows 7 loader. There's a few years of use left in Windows 7, so until then, no worries.
- I enjoy the time we're given (for free) to test Windows 8. In the last year, I've learned a lot about Windows 8, DISM, installing, updates, KMS server, virtualization, etc. etc. So what if it turns out that the "free" use of Windows 8 will stop. At that time, we still have the option to buy. But the most important thing to me is: We haven't been sitting by doing nothing, but have had ample time to "prepare" for the actual thing...

To me, the glass is still half full...
