A VL edition doesn't need a key upon install, so you probably used a Retail version and installed it with the VL key.

No i have installed with no key (ei.cfg)
and i have actived with the J8CK4 key on server KMS moo.....

EDIT yes i have retail, on ei.cfg file

Got my key, doesn't work on VL installation. Asked on page 2 but no reply at the time so I got it anyway.

You need a RETAIL version, than activate it with a VL Key against KMS, after that you can use your WMC key.

Can you upgrade a windows 7 install with a windows 8 retail disk, then kms it, then use the wmc key?

Is required the Windows 8 Pro and you can use the WMC Key to activate the KMS Windows 8 Pro.

Ok i downloaded retail. Before reinstallation of windows (again...) I have few questions. If i activate and backup key with token manager can i restore activation after clean install? And one more: If i buy from daz activated windows 7 for 15 $, can i do a clean install again with this solution? But i would install win 7 on my hdd instead on my ssd that has win 8 installed now if it is possible and than just enter key in win 8. so i don't reinstall 2 times do it wouldn't be a big problem since i have ssd.

Why would you install win 7?
Do a clean install of the Retail win 8 pro, check that you al ready can add the WMC feature (don't do it yet), ipk the VL key, activate against KMS, add WMC by entering the WMC key, activate online against MS server. Done.

One quick question about this please:
    (1) I installed Windows 8 Pro, so that was my "clean system"
    (2) After that I used slmgr /ipk .....J*CK4 and KMS-activated
    (3) Then I followed the procedure for the new "key-by-mail" from MS
    (4) I backed up the activation with ATM

Now: If I later re-install the "clean system" from (1), I have a system without WMC, right? Can I just restore activation with ATM? Does that work on that new "non-WMC" system? I do need to change the key again beforehand, right? (to the new mail-key).

Activation is stored in the same place as for other versions (spp folder), but just in case, you better make a full image backup of your freshly activated win 8 pro with WMC.

Obviously you need to add the WMC feature before you restore tokens

OK, I will make a TrueImage backup of the complete system (incl. WMC), but just for testing, I'll also re-install the "bare" W8Pro, then test to see if I can use the activation backup (ATM) *without* the added WMC stuff.
If anybody know beforehand what the outcome might be, I'll be glad to hear it! Thanks!!

Restoring activation to win 8 pro with ATM works as advertised. Then adding MC with your key after restoring win 8 should work, but that part I didnt test .

I suggest having an ATM back up for fresh win 8 then another with WIN8 MC then one with WIN8-MS-OFFICE 2013,then one true image of all

    should do, you think?
