This is probably already answared, but when turning back the clock kms works without frankenbuild. But does it turn non-genuine again when the clock is set back forward? And why is the frankenbuild showing starter? I thought the replacement tokens came from win7 enterprise and not starter?
Yes, turning the clock back to the present makes it non-genuine. Frankenbuild showing starter, that would correlate with the "this edition of windows does not support this feature" message when one clicks on personalize?
Is this happening with the method I posted? Mine says enterprise but it seems someone else posted a different spp folder and some people are trying to do this on a running system. My method of integrating it into the WIM gave me no issues, doing it on a running system doesn't work right. Also my method doesn't require messing with date for anyone else with that issue.
I do hope you are feeling eligiable to fix everyone's setup once a newer Mx, Beta or RC release comes out using your workarround, I am definitly not going to do that
People are just having fun with the first leaked build of win8 FreeStyler!! don't be such a party poop!! When newer Builds get leaked there will always be an activation solution!!
Which user in their right mind is going to keep this pretty lacklustre W8 M1 build running long enough & then if/when a newer build is leaked try to do a in place upgrade with it, seems silly, its always best to do a clean install anyway when trying out these types of builds, god knows what bugs they have in them this early & no sane person is going to use it as a everyday OS & save important stuff on it that they are afraid to lose. Exactly
Right, so I have the SPP folder with the new tokens folder and the other one I forget. So how do I put it into the ISO? Should I use MagicISO to open the ISO then put the $OEM$ folder in Sources? and if so, what do I put in the $OEM$ folder? Is it a $$ folder containing the two folders? I can't edit the install.wim for whatever reason, when I try to modify it with 7zip it just doesn't work, and imagex doesn't want to mount it... And it's a good ISO download btw, it worked fine install-wise just want to activate it.
This is what I did: 1) Set bios date to 1st september 2010. 2) Extract the iso and dump all the files to a bootable flash drive. 3) restart computer and select to boot from usb. 4) After install is complete, use mini kms activator to activate. 5) End result- Windows is activated, expiry date in winver window is february 2nd 2011 (6 months from the bios date) and theres a watermark on the desktop that says blah blah...evaluation copy..blah blah. 6) I'm all set to use 7850 for the next 6 months though I'm sure the next leak will be in by that time.
after you reboot you find a starter edition(no changes at thems etc..) you have to activate with woat 3.2.... and than enjoy...
