Activating windows 8

    I entered the wrong product key when i clicked to activate. How do I get windows 8 to ask me put in the product key numbers again? Can someone please tell me how.

    command prompt as admin

    slmgr /upk
    removes the key

    slmgr /ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
    (replace X with your key) adds a key

    After trying to re-enter product key i received the following msg "error 0xc0045016 on a computer running a microsoft non-core edition, run "slui.exe 0x2a 0x004e018" to display error text. Is that because i did not run command of slmgr /upk? What should i do to activate windows 8 plz?

    you want to activate against a KMS server which is no more available? :eek:

    @bruinator I had same situatuion long time before. You must wait and find new active kms server.:cool: I think.
