windows 7 does see the 4GB of ram, but it will also say only "3GB available" it is the intel 915 chipset limitation.. from what I read about 3GB+ support on older motherboards, they put the memory shadows and crap like that in the address area above 3GB.... with the assumption "nobody needs more than 640kb ram" since it made no difference, I gave up trying to put more than 3GB into my GX280.... so now I just run plain 3GB in dual channel mode
Help me please! There exists a model: Acer 8930G which support CPU Q9000. And I have a model: Acer 5935G which don't support this CPU. Both model have NorthBridge: Intel Cantiga. How add Q9000 support in Acer 5935G ? CPU microcode 76060100 in BIOS 8930G I found, but what do next? I can confirm that the 650 CPU works. Specifically the SL8Q5 works in a base GX280 SFF (tower) model. Runs at 1.4 volts. AFIAK, this is the top end CPU you can put in this model. And the memory is still at 3.x GB even running x64 versions of Win 7 and Ubuntu. No matter what you try you will never see all 4 GB.
