Add Windows Media Center to Windows 8 Pro for FREE

It has only been 6 hours for me. Im going to the pub haha

 

That's the key I'm using, doesn't let me change it. Get error Code: 0xC004F061

Description: The Software Licensing Service determined that this specified product key can only be used for upgrading, not for clean installations.


Looks like I may have to make it look like I'm running win8 pro first, then use the upgrade code. Anyone know how to convert to non media center version (or make it look like non media center edition)? I remember reading somewhere on here that is was possible but I don't know how.

That upgrade offer too, or not, thought afterwards it will be more expensiv.
As i remember right after activating with this key it stays activated....correct me, if i´m wrong! 10 € for a win ( Pro/Enterprise) is too.

Hi Everyone, I just tried this method yesterday night and it worked Now I am doing it same for my friend but the kms servers can no longer be connected!! they are all down. So can anyone honestly "Confirm" that if I install using Win8Pro Volume licence key and then windows is not activated but still if i'll put in the upgrade key from Microsoft via email will it permanently activate still?? Many thanks in advanced

 

I got the Key today after 2 days...but can't figure out the procedure of inserting the key and doing the Upgrade.

I have Windows 8 Professional x64 and activated it via phone..so after the upgrade would my system be deactivated or it will stay activated?

In the third step, its written Tap or click "Add features to Windows 8" but when i click settings, I am getting "Turn Windows features On or Off"

What to do? Where to insert the key? Please Help!!!!!!!!

 

ur system should be activated after the upgrade... if u cant find the second option maybe ur already upgraded or try from "system" [check left pane] by right clivking the start popup or Win+X

 

You mean u installed using one of the vol lic keys e.g. Win8Pro and win8 wasn't activated, u then entered the free upgrade key u received from email and then it still did a complete permanent activate?

 

Tried upgrading one of my windows 8 pro 32bit vm (activated using the VMware kms server download from the kms thread) using the free windows 8 wmc retail key.

Was not successful.

Only had success in upgrading another 8 pro vm (activated using us$14.99 key purchase from microsoft) using the free windows 8 wmc retail key.

Look like the key is only good for upgrading the retail/upgrade version of windows 8 pro

 

Nope, many people in PCBeta succeded to turn KMS activated win8 pro to legit win8Pro+WMC, actually they have a term for it : The Miracle Laundering.

Edit: I "laundered" my MAK Pro to legit Pro+WMC.

I installed Windows 8 Professional using KMS Client Setup Key ending in -J8CK4, activated Windows via a KMS server, then applied the WMC key. After the system rebooted twice, I now have a permanently activated Windows 8 Professional WMC edition.

The key stored in the machine is that of the WMC key, and there is no trace of previous KMS activation.
