Add Windows Media Center to Windows 8 Pro for FREE

Yeah! After nearly 38 hours got my last WMC-Keys. Found them in spam-folder, where els.... Stupid web.de.

Well got mine. after almost 2 days . But I have no use for it yet :\ but at least I have one

 

Took about 60 hours to receive my first key. Still waiting on 2 more. Now waiting for the MSDN .isos to download... Im sure the hurricane hitting isnt helping anything.

Be careful. I just got a second email two days after the first. Turns out it's the same key I got two days earlier. You can only use the key once..

 

did you use the same email address? I think they key is generated using the email address entered during request. I used 3 email addresses (felt bad but I will survive) and 3 different keys returned.

 

I'm sure you're right. I used same email address one at Microsoft USA and one at Microsoft GB. Glad USA and GB are linked.

 

For all waiting, I just want to let you know, that I received another key a few minutes ago, which I claimed one day earlier as the other one, which came two days before. I used two different addresses and the keys are different

 

You need to read the small letters: "This licence can be used on 5 different pc's"

 

As per the e-mail I received:

 

Single computer only - I tried key on a second PC and got "this key has already been used" or something...

You're right confused it with "* Offer valid from October 26, 2012, until January 31, 2013, and is limited to five licenses per customer per promotion."

 

In total I received 6 keys and will use the following method to install Windows 8 on my systems and save the activation for future use (and re-installs, if necessary):

(1) Install PC's with Windows 8 Pro (non-VL), in my case nl_windows_8_x86_dvd_915477.iso
(2) Select "add new features", enter the key (WMC is added and system is activated)
(3) Run ATM Advanced Token Manager to backup the activation.

For future re-installs:

(4) Use ambidav's ProWMC.iso (see "Create a Windows 8 Pro with Media Center iso")
(5) Run ATM (twice!!) with the activation backup from (3)

So that's two seperate install iso's, but I can live with that if I get permanent activation. Very nice to have that activation backed-up for future use.
I will keep on using my KMS VM's as well, however (for other PC's, new ones, etc).

Yep, what an army of busy little minions is able to achieve is amazing, isn´t it.

just a quick question ppl.


When you have activated with your WMC key. Once the key has been activated before Feb 2013 deadline. If you have to do a clean install after FEB 2013 from iso DVD, can you re-activate again via the WMC key you used before the deadline?

if not there must be a way of reactivating your WMC edition or getting another key off M$ for free surely?.
