for me it only did it once on one machine and cleared up by itself... can I try your new one with my windows 8 pro copy see if it happens?
Thank you very much, its working After a thousand reformats I managed to activate again with your program. Now that I know my backup is ok, its time to figure out why the hell its not working manually.
Posting just to thank Josh and give my experience... I activated my Windows 8 Pro when the KMS servers were working ... Today i needed to format my HD cause some tests i tried at the system... First i tried to reactivate copying and pasting the SSP folder, but it didn't work... But with the 3.4 version of Josh's program all worked perfectly I created the backup with the program (version 3.4) as soon as i instaled the system ... I mean : 1- installed system 2- activated 3- backup ... As soon as i activated, i did the backup (before installing any driver or programs) ... And after the format and system reinstall, i did the same thing, but in step 3 i did the restore ... I'm using Win 8 Pro x64 Wzor ISO ... Today i'm gonna download the MSDN version to test if my backup will work too... I saw that Josh is testing the MSDN too cause the program gave a BSOD to some user using the version released yesterday... So later i'll come back to this topic to post again with my experience ... Thx Josh
When i download it, it says 3.3 , not 3.4. And with 3.3 you cant backup Windows 8. So does anyone have a link to version 3.4 please? nvm, found it....
STILL does not work for phone activation Will it be fixed?? and yes, this not 3.4, this is 3.3 i downloaded 3.4 from other site
????? Hello fellows i activated my windows 8 enterprise with a mak key by calling microsoft and would like to know if i use this program to backup my activation and reinstall windows 8 enterprise again, restore my activation, do i need to call microsoft again for another activation? thanks in advance
@ Phone Activation Users: According to instructions, when you've activated by PHONE, the activation NEEDS of PHONE ACTIVATION again. ONLINE activations can be activated instantly by the backup.
really if you understand how it works phone activation rewrites tokens.dat (the backuped activated one) causing the machine to deactivate. if the machine has been activated all you need to do is restore activated tokens.dat and refresh system lic status... the steps are in this order #: disable network adapters #: install key #: disable sppsvc #: replace tokens #: refresh sys lic. status #: check activation status #: re enable network adapters phone activation requires the same step.. nothing more nothing less been tested with windows 7 and windows 8 with my token restore programs
Install the key before tokens restore is the unique difference on my main restore method to your one... Usually I restore the tokens and install the key. It really help anything?
PS: Will preserve the activation because doesn't have a new key installed on the tokens... I'll do with the tests here. Thanks.
resotring tokens then installing the key tells sppsvc to overwrite your restored tokens.dat which is kinda pointless BTW if you do this right you will be able to backup office 2013 activations.. writing a install detector for office is easy
I really doesn't have willingness for work with Office again. I've many problems on my machine because unactivated Windows 8 Eval install. Now I'll solve it to back the tests again...
I know that. But it doesn't generate a problem for users looking to activate your office again.. I think
