On Office 2013 with Windows 7 the tokens location is: Code: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform\tokens.dat Is the same from 2010. I haven't sure if it occurs on Windows 8 with Office 2010.
I can't see what the reason for backing up the registry when I can reinstall the keys via WMI as Windows...
I have tested on Server 2008 R2 SP1. The activation was made on the telephone. I have done backup with your beta2 version. I changed the key, online activation fails and said that remain 19 days. Without restart, I started the restore process. It said that during 5 minutes, but process was more than 1 hour, and without a sucessful I restart the server and started the restore again. After 5 minutes the system was activated. Thanks. maybe office activation will be in the nest version. thank you
Clean install of windows 8 pro with media center failed to fully restore from backup Code: Starting the Windows Activation Restore on Windows 8 Pro with Media Center at 22:49:07 of 2012/08/30 with Advanced Tokens Manager v3.5 BETA 1 by Josh Cell Software's [ 22:49:07 ] Disabling the Network connections [ 22:49:09 ] Success [ 22:49:09 ] Starting the Software Protection Platform Service [ 22:49:09 ] Preparing the activation system for the activation restore [ 22:49:26 ] Writing the Product Key [ 22:49:27 ] Fails [ 22:49:27 ] Stopping Software Protection Platform Service [ 22:50:00 ] Restoring the Activation Files [ 22:50:00 ] Success [ 22:50:00 ] Starting the Software Protection Platform Service [ 22:51:10 ] Rebuilding the Activation System [ 22:51:12 ] Checking the restored activation files integrity [ 22:51:12 ] Activation files integrity doesn't match [ 22:51:12 ] Critical error when restoring: [ Activation files restore error ] / [ Invalid Product Key ]. Looks like it failed to install the key, But after failure I ran slmgr -ipk *****-*****-*****-*****-***** and product key installed successfully and was activated View attachment 17181 Seems like this only happens for Professional WMC Maybe you could try a second attempt to write the key in the app josh?
I need of implement an PID Checker on this application that will check if the user has been entered an correct key in case of non-successful registry decode. What the activation scheme for Windows 8 with Media Center? Do you've an specific product key for the OS-WMC? You don't need to enter an NON-WMC key on the activation? Only the WMC key is needed for the activation?
. Normal scheme: ProWMC must be upgrade from Pro(use Add Features in Control panel), You must use Pro key(you mean NON-WMC as I understand) to activate Pro version befor you can upgarde to WMC. When you upgarde to ProWMC you need WMC key (this key cannot use to install). After Add WMC you need activate your OS-WMC again with WMC key. My case and @ambidav are use Windows 8 Pro with Media Center integrated to fresh install, So cannot install key when restore
After the Windows 8 Pro with Media Center fresh install you can install the WMC-Key normally with slmgr -ipk without an double attempt?
It looks like tokens.dat and data.dat from backup need to be restored first before writing the product key! If the product key is written before the activation files are restored it will fail to write the key, That's why second attempt to write the key works
Hi Josh, when I use your soft admistrator mod y savegarder activation, it gives me a different key and refuses to accept my activation key real? I have Windows 8 Pro X 86 thanks by advance
What the activation channel? You need to enter an real key if the channel is MAK. The 5 last characters match with your key?
