Did you note the installation ID ? If the next installation ID is the same, the confirmation ID will be the same too I am not sure if installation ID is hardware related or just random numbers
Thanks for great tools Josh Cell I got a activated Windows 8 Pro WMC on a MBR disk. Will activation restore if i go from activated on MBR to clean install GPT? And what do i install? Clean en_windows_8_x64_dvd_915440 or 9200.16384.120725-1247_ProWMC_HRM_CCSA_X64FRE_EN-US_DVD?
Hey Josh thank you so much for providing this handy tool, but I have an issue here, when I tried to do a back up of my activation it says "Sorry, the product key detected not match with your installed license Please input exact correct key into box and check if it is correct" and the product is Office 15, OfficeProPlusMSDNR_Retail edition, and it gives me the last five characters of my real license, you mention on your website that the product is located in a config.ini file, however I can't locate where the config.ini file is, can you please tell me where is this config.ini file in order for me to input the the product key? Thank you so much for taking your time and helping us with these amazing tools, thumbs up for you.
Hey Josh, I seem to be having a issue with one of my machines with atm. I have used it on 3 other machines with no problems. When I try it with one of my desktops with 8 Pro WMC it throws up a error every time and it fails to restore the activation. After that the machine will connect to the activation servers and activate with no problem. I have had this happen around 5 or 6 times now so my activation limit has to be getting close. At first I thought it was something with a missing driver after clean installs but last night I decided to just try it while it was activated. I made a backup and attempted a restore right after. It throws up the same error at the end and says it was unable to activate. So I was left with a system that lost its activation until it connected to the servers. The only thing I can think of is that when I made the original backup I had a different hard drive as the os drive. Could that be what is causing it to fail? I can post the log files if you would think that would help. Thank you for all of your hard work on this great tool.
Hi to all. Just posting to share my experience with this handy tool. I've restored over 10 times a PROWMC activation BUT on the same model MOBO. Same model. Different mobos with combinations. CPU + RAM + HDD (MBR - SSD fresh install - Same model SSD)
In the first quote you didn't have a different hard drive or am I wrong ? I don't understand the hard drive story in the second part, did you changed it or not ?
When I made the original backup back in December I had a different hard drive. I put a new hard drive in and the restore failed because it was different. But windows connected to the activation server and activated itself. Now when I backup with the same hardware and try to restore it still fails.
Strange idea bro You tried to backup and restore just after with an error, just like that, without any change ? So it can't be hardware related. I think Josh must have a look at your log, never heard that before
The first log file is on the 14th which was from a clean install. The second set are from last night. I was activated, performed a backup and tried to restore two times. View attachment 20321 View attachment 20322 View attachment 20323
All this logs are indicating the operating system activation refuse. It occurs even you have changed any major hardware part. As you say, you have installed the operating system in another hard drive of the backup, so you need to re-activate it and make a second backup to that. The HardwareID are generated based on the current hard disk, so the activation system will request the hash for the main partition using the physical serial number. As the log contains: 'The product can't be activated by the backup. Please check the backup instructions on the readme file.' This application has a level of 100% accuracy on their work. So you never will can have success on the same backup using a system that was not activated before by this app.
So even though it is activated right now I wont be able to backup and restore this activation because I originally installed 8 on a different hard drive correct?
