It's the same version of Windows 8 that i installed. But when must i activate media center ? After restoring or before because i had media center activated when i saved my license files.
I deleted "with media center" because my computer's language is french and the word "with" was in french in the config.ini file but i didn't change my windows version, i reinstalled from the same dvd.
You need to understand that 'Media Center' pack is not only a 'pack', but another Windows edition called as 'Windows 8 Pro with Media Center' that also are using another Product Key and has another Product ID. We have three Windows 8 Editions for home end user: Windows 8 Core / Windows 8 Pro / Windows 8 Pro with Media Center All that can not be activated with the same Retail key, for example:
Does Service pack matter when moving from 32-bit to 64-bit? The original OEM version that I have came without SP1, so I have to install the SP as an update. If I backup the activation, will that activation work for 64-bit without SP1?
Its impossible, because (under Windows 8) Office 2013 uses same activation mechanism & stores the activation data in the same place of Windows.
I have Win8ProWMC, I was playing around with office 2013 activations and being a total n00b I nearly screwed myself. I used Revo Uninstall on Office 2013, after a while suddenly Win8 says I am not activated. Advanced Tokens Manager kept giving me error Activation files integrity doesn't match Critical error when restoring: [ Activation files restore error ] / [ Invalid Product Key ]. When I look at My Computer I can't even see anything on Windows activation part other Product ID not available, it seems to be missing something no link to activate windows for one. Tried Slui.exe 0x3 can't activate either the win 8 Pro key nor the ProWMC key. Until I decided to copy the whole data.dat & tokens.dat into System32\spp\store then Windows gave me some error about windows not activate again. This time I can see Windows Activation in My Computer like it suppose to, then use Advanced Tokens Manager it now works! So I guess I wouldn't touch Office 2013 again!
Advanced Tokens Manager has a module to detect tampered systems, so you will not have success when your activation data is invalid ( you have fixed it by manually copying the files into STORE folder) .
I actually did not use any KMS softwares or hacks on Office 2013 other than trying some "serials" available online. I think my uninstallation using revo uninstall or something might have corrupt windows somehow. BTW in a month or 2 I am considering purchasing new HDD and using it as primary HDD will Advanced Tokens Manager able to restore current backup of activation into newly installed Windows 8 on new HDD or I need a totally new backup of activation since HDD is different?
You will need to re-activate all the products again since your HardwareID will be changed. Will not take so much and you can do it online or by phone after the restoration. Then do a new backup inside this new activation.
I had Office 2013 activated by phone. But after changing Hardware (motherboard, processor and memory) I restored the backup, but failed to activate. May it happened because I changed my hardware ?
But i can't add media center before activating Windows 8. It says me that i must activate Windows and then i could activate media center. What must i do ?
