The better DWM.exe working one, is that one from Release Preview(better will be the last build with Aero and dwm working), the guys is probably a MS employee, who exactly knows what to do. The final solution may only leak internally from MS, unofficially of course, where i still i'm convinced and already said, there is a plan B in Microsoft to save the circumstances, otherwise if 8 will not reach expected Microsoft share, Microsoft will sink down, they are extremely dumb but not stupid!! WE CAN just Wait, that unofficialy work will be some kind impossible to be fully stable, just my opinion
You know, after using Windows 8 for almost a month now, I really actually do miss Aero. I always turned the stripes and color way down so it looked really really sleek.
I don't miss Aero at all. It is overrated. But maybe somebody could make the (Windows 2000) Classic theme for us in Windows 8.
I'm a member of well known themes modders, creators and masters, they do not bother much for Windows 8 Windows style builder it is not compatibile with Windows 8, theme structure has been changed, so references for all GUI parts are unknown, doubtfully someone will create a theme with Resource Hacker
The classic theme in Windows 7 doesn't have any reference to msstyle (path) in text theme file. Maybe it is already hidden in Win8, it will be just enough to erase path to msstyle file within theme text file?
Changing the login screen UI is a whole different issue. Of course, it would be nice to have a login screen that does not scorch the eyes. Changing the tile text color is a theming issue. I think there are a few threads around here dealing with that.
The color is hard coded in the msstyle, so the short answer is you need a custom theme to set window title text color.
