Is there already a way to release aero in Windows 8?

Or are there themes and/or theme patches for Windows 8 that enable the aero effects?

That's what I've asked those who use Classic Shell etc. to get back the Start Menu too.

Really what's the point using something new if all you want is the same you already used before.

You want the Windows 7 look, use the real Windows 7.
Windows 8 is far more superior then any Windows version ever made. Be glad and enjoy the best Windows ever.

Win8 has many features that Win7 hasn't; it also is a lot quicker!

But I'd like to have it a bit more shiny as with Win7; that's all!

You wanna have 'shiny' OS - use Windows 7, wanna have OS with many features - use Windows 8..

I want my OS to be shiny AND have lots of features. It's always better to have "no compromises"

What's the problem of just asking this question? If somebody knows a solution: why should this bother anyone?! If you don't want some glamour: it's OK with me, but if some like some shine: this shouldn't trouble anybody.

I like classic shell, there is no reason they should've removed the start menu on the desktop. Running apps like "creative control panel" from metro to have it bounce me back to desktop is stupid. At least with classic shell I've got shortcuts to the apps I have installed. That's the biggest annoyance with the desktop without a start menu, you cant just run an installed app.

The only issue I'm having with 8 right now is the copy GUI that just drops to 0kb/sec during a big file transfer. I wish they'd fix that old Vista issue ;)

They made Windows 8 faster by stripping out stuff that could slow it down. I expect after the backlash is over we will see a Windows 9 with better graphics.

To answer the question, atm. there's no Aero theme for Windows 8 but someone will surely try to recreate it as close as possible to the original. And about the RP theme, there's a thread dedicated for that. I can't post a link directly to it due to my new user status, but if you do a quick search in the Windows 8 forum you'll find it.
