I'd cut directly to the chase and install the OS on a totally different HDD known to be good. At least that will eliminate the HDD as problem source.
The problem was almost certainly a corrupted windows boot process, ... booting from wrong disk/partition, .. looking for bootmgr for a Windows installation that no longer exists. The only good suggestion made in this thread so far was the one to physically disconnect all but one drive and reinstall.
I think your error is a common mistake I have seen, where you have wired up your first disk that you want to install (and boot) Windows from to Disk 1 not Disk 0 Disk 0 = 1st Drive Disk 1 = 2nd Drive Disk 2 = 3rd Drive Problem occurs is that Windows will let you install to Disk 1, but the BIOS is set to boot from Disk 0 and then fails. So perhaps you can take a picture of your Disk Management so that we can see? View attachment 28564
He appears to have solved the problem, so no need to keep beating on this. ( @pisthai- He already reported reformatting both drives with gparted - no need to do it again)
Yes I see he has, but I still wonder if he has the order wrong of the cables or maybe his BIOS is set wrong. Mainly I post so that it can help others as I see that this keeps popping up from time to time.
My guess is that the drive that's causing the problem is not being completely wiped (formatting does not equal a clean drive). Perhaps the "reserved system partition" is not being removed. It may also be complicated by the fact that you have two drives installed. Both drives may have to be wiped, but certainly the one you want to install to. I suggest using "DBAN Boot and Nuke". The process can take several hours, depending on the size of your drive. Also, try using this program as a last resort because repeating it multiple times on the same drive can decrease the lifespan of the drive. You might want to consider removing the second drive from your computer and wipe that separately. You can get the program from: dban.org (I know he solved the problem, but thought another solution might be useful for future readers)
Heaven forbid learning to use the tools that come with windows, i. e. diskpart, bootsect, bcdedit, ...
Thank you all for the great info. Before the second installation I have checked the order of HDD in bios and i did install the win on disk 0. (this was the second installation) but unfortunately it didn't help! Only after physically removing the HDD and leaving just the one disk 0 and then formatting and re installing win on it, did it work.
