    Re:slic 2.1 Asus P5K-VM for P3-P5G33

    I use ASUSUpdate tools in windows to upload the new bios, and install windows 7, and have not use any other loader. is the BIOS have to use afudos to update? I will try this evening.

    I have done exactly the same on another PC with P5Q-D motherboard.

    I would NOT Flash from Windows (which has been repeated hundreds of times in these forums, btw).
    Flash From DOS with the Flash Utility recommended by ASUS.

    1. Read the Aopen site and see what they have to say about updating a BIOS.
    2. Search for similar MB's Flash successfully in these forums and see what they did.

    3. My Guess is:
    Try flashing the original un-modified BIOS first.
    Then try the modified BIOS.

    Hi

    I have the un-modified bios install
    The award software that I am using which came with the bios, probably recognize the bin file CRC is not match to its database, and does not allow me to burn it
    so my questions is:
    1. I am guessing that there is no problem with the CRC error
    2. Which external software I can use to burn the bios
