    not sure where to post this

    I am just wondering what the difference between the Windows 7 Loaders' "software mod" and "BIOS mod" option are.

    Software mod option installs a loader, the certificate and key to activate Win 7 on almost any PC.
    Bios Mod option only installs a Certificate and a Key and only works to activate Win 7 if you have SLIC 2.1 in BIOS.

    Go to ASUS support Download page and get the DOS Flash Utility they have listed for your MB.

    flashing bios with .rom / .wph

    Hello,
    I have downloaded this file:
    ACER_Aspire_5735-ACER-1.10-DELL_SLIC21_DELL_SLP.rar
    but there is BIOS with SLIC 2.1 only under DOS.
    There are also executable files, but only with SLIC2.0.
    I am not so skilled to make use of that under DOS. Is there a possibility
    to flash bios under Windows? (there are CPK110_SLIC.ROM and
    CPK110_SLIC.WPH there)
