NoJuan999: I'd apprecaite your helping me understand the different bios mod solutions you created for bios V5.23 (post #3453) and bios V5.27 (post #1489) for the SAME motherboard. Both the methods for modifying the bios (dynamic vs. isa) and the tools used to flash the bios (awd8833S vs. awdflash) are different. Also it seems the SLIC2.1 files used are also different. The computer I use is critical for my work, so I'm perhaps being overly cautious about details before I flash the bios to get a SLIC2.1 system. Has anyone used these modded bioses sucessfully? Thanks for the clarification.
Well, using only the bios mod files in Post #1489 and the flash method defined there, I just flashed my bios for HP's Napa-GL8E/Foxconn MCP73M01H1. Before the flash I had bios version 5.27, SLIC 2.0. After the flash, which indicated no problems, I had bios version 5.23 (!), SLIC 2.0. The different Busykid508 SLIC2.1 mod for V5.23 also didn't work for me. Very confusing and frustrating.
It seems you are a bit confused. The BIOS I linked you to is Version 5.27 so it would Definitely NOT show up as Version 5.23. Make Sure you are Flashing the Correct bios from the 5.27 Mod I linked. Also Reboot and reset Bios Defaults after Flashing.
