First time poster. Regarding: Manufacturer: ECS -Motherboard Model: MCP61PM-HM Nettle2-GL8E -Bios revision: 5.27 (sp37530.exe) -Bios Type: Award BIOS - I would Recommend using AWDFlash with the recommended switches: awdflash xxx.bin /cc/cd/cp/py/R Get Awdflash here (Compliments of TheWiz): Modified by: NoJuan999 SLIC: HP 2.1 SLP: None Added Cert: HP Modded with AWARD SLIC Mod 1.28 Mod method: ISA Modified BIOS: HP_Pavilion_m8300f_ECS_MCP61PM-HM_Nettle2-GL8E_HP_SLIC_2.1_ISA.rar (HP Cert Included) [You can make a bootable usb drive using this tool to flash from dos: Confirmed Working by walawa75 and BuonaDomenica (on m8200n) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Am I missing something here or is there no bin file in the RAR file that I downloaded from the link. There is only a net.27 file and the HP cert. How do you work with the net.27 file anyway. Any help is greatly appreciated.
@ contrafox, SLICNETR5.27 is the BIOS File. Flash it with AwdFlash, Or Rename it to BIOS.BIN (if that makes you feel better) then flash it.
Manufacturer: Asrock Model: ASRock X58 Extreme Bios Type: AMI Bios Revision: 2.70 SLIC: HP 2.1 SLP: HP Cert: HP Modded with AMI SLIC Mod 1.61 Mod method: SSV3/MMTool Modified Bios: X58 Extreme(2.70)ROM.7z (Cert Included) w w w. sendspace .c o m /file/ker4tn Flash from DOS using instructions from AsRock for your MB. @ nojuan999 Thanks for the help. I tried to flash using the above link with the awdflash (Version 8.94) using the above recommended switches and nothing happened. I waited over 30 mins with no response or activity. After awdflash ask if I want to save the current bios and I answer yes and supplied a name (old.bin) .... nothing happens. I have also tried to use awdflash without any file name and get the same results. I am using a Corsair 512 USB drive that is bootable using the hp to flash from DOS. Neither time did I brick my old bios and it stills boots just fine with the old bios. Any Ideas or thoughts?
Check your MB and make sure there is NOT a write-protect jumper or possibly a write -protect setting in the current BIOS. Also you can make a back up with WinFlash first, then boot to dos and do NOT use awdflash to make a backup and see if that helps. If all else fails PM the two users that confirmed that BIOS and see what they say.
BTW - I was premature here, the EP35 bios broke my intergrated NIC. Trying P35-DS3P (Rev 2) bios now. should be fine
