    I sincerely thank you for this. Unlike others that were available, this one not only worked, but worked flawlessly after the first attempt (well, considering that it needs to be run from a DOS-bootable flash drive. That wasn't a big deal for me as I already had one ready)

    I would sincerely like to urge--in the strongest possible terms--the admins and mods of these forums to PLEASE remove any and all other references to the Inspiron 6000 BIOS mod. I would really hate to see, and there's really no need for it, other Inspiron 6000 owners to be sent through the same endless futile circles as I was or experience the same frustration as I had to experience. Thank you for your consideration.
