Not sure if this is the right place for this problem, but can't find answer anywhere after couple days searching, so here goes: Successfully (I think) modded HP MCP61PM-HM BIOS v5.27 for HP Pavilion a6242n (SP37530.exe) using Andy's Award Tool (ISA method). However, problem is trying to flash the new BIOS: the only thing that comes in SP37530 is WinFlash.exe. I tried using it and replacing the NET5.27 BIOS image with the modded version, but after reboot it looks like I still have the same old 5.27 BIOS (RW reports SLIC 2.0). I'm guessing this is because WinFlash is checking the version and NOT doing the flash because it's the same. I would rather use awdflash.exe to do the update for all the usual reasons, but cannot find one that I KNOW will work with this particular MB/BIOS. Here's what I'd like to have if anyone can help: 1. WinFlash V1.86.2.HP (version that comes in SP37530) GUI or command line options that will force the update (safely), or 2. A link (preferably inside an HP BIOS update from the HP website) containing a copy of awdflash.exe that will work with this BIOS, or 3. Info from someone who has successfully used ANY version of awdflash on any of the HP a6200 series motherboards. That looks to be v8.94 of awdflash.exe and I'm happy to try it if I've know someone out there who's tried that version of awdflash on something close to my mobo... Is it possible to refresh the link on post #1871 for a bios mod slic 2.1 once more. I have a need to apply this mod to a replacement ASRock CONROE1333-DV I/H R2 motherboard going into our old Acer PC that has a motherboard with a bunch of popped capacitors. It has not run in a year, but I thought I would give it a shot since I had recent luck with another down PC. Thanks
