Anyway to get slic bios for Toshiba Satellite C855d-S5104 in order to downgrade to Windows 7? Current bios is version 6.20 on the Toshiba site.
Maybe it is hard to find a slics2.1 for HP laptops. well i tried the phonex tools and that succeed in pushing the slic, however warning of corruption and signature failed. Could anyone give me some suggestions? or maybe i just should give up. thx anyway
Did not see this system posted on the working list: Dell Dimension 4600 BIOS mentioned/linked in the post titled (sorry, I cannot post links yet): "Can a Dell Dimension 4600 have it's BIOS modded to contain SLIC 2.1 ?" Pulled down the BIOS, Confirming it works. My test system was already at Dell released A12 BIOS. Ran over top and it took it. More info: Used Rufus to make a bootable thumbdrive with MSDOS boot, copied the SLIC version over, and ran it from WinXP (as it is a dos/win flasher). Didn't see the normal gas gauge flash, so booted off the thumbdrive, and ran it again from DOS. Still didn't see the gas gauge, but did see more of the normal flash screens. Used Rufus again to make my thumbdrive boot from a factory Dell Win7pro image, installed and it showed as activated. When I get a chance, I will test on another system if this BIOS can successfully top-flash over A12 right from a Windows OS. Would save a lot of time if it works.
I can't post links yet (too few posts...I can't even quote you) and I don't have the board till next week. Sorry. I will repost later.
